WIDESPREAD Brokerage 2016@WIRE, Brainport Eindhoven Region, June 8, 2016

The NCP_WIDE.NET project, the transnational network of the NCPs for Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation, is organising the first dedicated brokerage event on the widespread funding schemes.


WIDESPREAD Brokerage 2016 will take place on June 8, in the Brainport Eindhoven region on the occasion of the WIRE 2016 .


The programme

The main aim of the widespread funding programme is to bridge the innovation divide. For this purpose it has geographical eligibility criteria dividing the EU and associated countries into “widening” (low-performing in R&I) and non-widening who take part as mentors of the widening ones.


The brokerage

Currently, there are registered participants from widening countries such as Turkey,  Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Slovenia as well as from non-widening countries such as Spain, UK, Belgium and Netherlands. Most popular fields of activity are  Chemical sciences, Biological Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences,  Physical sciences and Biotechnology (Medical, Environmental, Industrial, Agricultural).   Before the brokerage, there will be a 1-hour info session, explaining the calls of the widespread programme including practical advices from beneficiaries.

Eligible organizations can be research and academic actors, clusters, enterprises. National/ regional authorities are also eligible aspiring to become Centres of Excellence.  Participants interested in widespread schemes of H2020, can access a pool of potentially  interesting partners to team up for proposals.

Through a dedicated matchmaking service, organisations (from widening and non-widening countries) upload their cooperation profile,  Teaming (idea-expertise), Twinning (idea-expertise), ERA Chairs, Cost Actions and meet with partners of their interest.
